It's showtime!

With the new Spring/Summer collection packed, our smartest shirts ironed and passports at the ready, travelling Mr.Penrose and the sorcerers apprentice are ready for the Big Apple.

It's showtime again and tomorrow we'll be setting off for an even sunnier city... New York! for the fantastic event that is MRket. MRket is a global fashion trade show for the creme de la creme of menswear, representing collections from sportswear, tailoring, footwear, clothing and of course accessories.

Penrose are very proud to have shown at this prestigious event for the last 6 seasons and are delighted to be returning to our usual position in the UK Design area with our latest collection.

So what's in store for Penrose Spring Summer 2014? This season we have played around with a beautiful colour palette that extends from our classic jewelled tones through to soft and delicate pastel shades. We have introduced a silk and linen mix (in 3 different designs across 4 colourways each) and it is THE tie to be wearing next summer.

For those who opt out of wearing a tie in the summertime, SS14 introduces the cotton classic ascot. Made from 100% cotton in a soft wash finish, the Penrose ascot  is exquisitely designed with a pleated neck band and delicate pin fringing. This is the perfect piece of neck-wear to sport underneath an open collared shirt.

Finding inspiration along the way

"The Creative" is now at his French country house where he is lucky enough to live half of the year. He completed a 3500 kms solo tour of Spain on his large Italian motor bike where he was inspired by the beauty of ancient Moorish tiles and architectural decorations. Watch out for elements of these in forthcoming new Penrose collections!

Let the travelling season commence!

Last week we returned from the renowned Pitti Uomo in the beautiful city of Florence-showing the new Spring Summer Penrose London collection to the most important global fashion buyers. This is the first main show in our calendar, and hits of the season with 4 days of searing hotness…. and that was just our stand!

SS14 Here we come!

Mr Penrose  has had an exceptionally busy week,  a flying visit to New York to show our favourite store - Barneys New York our pre-collection for next spring-summer 2014 (yes we really do work that far in advance) it seems our US cousins adore and share our passion in appreciating the Penrose London sumptuous take on ornate  woven silks, luscious silk linen mixed ties, scarves in silk and linen, also THE softest cotton foulards and grand scarves that are cool to wear and even cooler to look at!  Our palate for next spring summer covers rich lilacs, soft pinks, even softer yellows and orange (THE colour for next year) blushed blues and the palest greens that yearn to be worn with the lightest of linen jackets — our pochettes, that most subtle of gentlemen's accoutrements, are breathtakingly original with an elegant modern stylish singularity.  Never main stream, our collection and clarion call, remains one of excellence and pure individuality.

Monday sees our team departing for Florence Italy for the start of the menswear shows and, we were delighted to be invited to show our creativity to the worlds most important and influential luxury buyers in the breathtaking environs of the Fortessa De Basso, a beautiful 15th century fort in the hear of this wonderful city!

On the road again....

The road….. “The creative” – he has the best job!! He is now heading South for the Spanish mountains and back roads in search of adventure and inspiration.

At least he has left us with a beautiful new collection. Lets hope he doesn’t fall off this beautiful machine below! In the meantime, the rest of the hard working team are preparing our sales trips to Florence, NY, Berlin, Hong Kong, London and beyond!

Greetings friends. Well, Gatsby is almost upon us and, whether we love Baz's extravaganza or not - the clothes are bound to be glorious. May it be an inspiration to all you fellows to take that bit of extra care and attention with your appearance………knot up those Penrose ties, bow ties and ascots, nattily sport pochettes and look exceptional!
