The road….. “The creative” – he has the best job!! He is now heading South for the Spanish mountains and back roads in search of adventure and inspiration.

At least he has left us with a beautiful new collection. Lets hope he doesn’t fall off this beautiful machine below! In the meantime, the rest of the hard working team are preparing our sales trips to Florence, NY, Berlin, Hong Kong, London and beyond!

Greetings friends. Well, Gatsby is almost upon us and, whether we love Baz's extravaganza or not - the clothes are bound to be glorious. It’s “WONDERWALL” time again! This has no relation to a certain over-rated 90’s pop group, nor the obscure  70’s George Harrison film from which they borrowed the title. For us it is the time when, twice a year we hone down literally hundreds of possible colour-ways into just four or six. Something like sixty potential designs are reviewed, edited and refined to create a seasons “Tie Collection” – this work in progress  will become what you  see in the shops in Spring 2014………………..our Creative team work a year ahead! Stay tuned and we shall keep you informed of the progress of our new collection.

Hello friends, first of all we are delighted to announce the launch of our new Spring/Summer collection now available at our online SHOP!

Spring is in the Air "The Creative" headed further south into Southern Morocco in search of inspiration in the Souks......his is the toughest job! In complete contrast "Sales" is traversing Scandinavia visiting the finest stores in the chilly North where Penrose is a much favoured brand.

On another topic - you may be reading about "Formal Friday". This of course is nothing new to the purveyors of style here at Penrose-London. "Dress down" was always a anathema to us and we have long advocated the merits of being well turned out for the chap about town and country..............whatever day of the week!  Even when not business formal, a natty ascot or well twisted scarf are an essential alternative to wearing a tie.

In the making....

Southward to Como in Italy, home of the beautiful lake, George Clooney and some of the finest silk mills in the world. It was for the latter than our 'reclusive creative' spent an extremely busy week developing new ideas for our Spring Summer 14 Collection which we shall be selling to the stores this July and available in the shops early next year. Yes- we work that far ahead! 'Creatives' first port of call was to his favourite place in the world - a vast archive of literally thousands of books devoted exclusively to textiles, some dating back to the 18th century.

Having spent a long day in this visual paradise saturated with inspiration, these ideas are added to to a pool of other design possibilities which have been developed over the past few months. The rest if the week was spent working with fine high quality specialist silk weavers developing patterns, motives, textures and, most importantly of all, colourisation. Thus begins a three month process in which a collection is developed. We shall keep you posted as progress is made. See you again soon .........

On the road again.

On the road in January and February and it continues to be non-stop...the sales team have so far been on selling missions in Florence, Berlin, New York and Copenhagen, with many more to follow. Here you will see some images, including our ties looking resplendent in the fabulous tie hall of our good friends Barney's in New York where, we are proud to say, Penrose is one of their best selling brands. Our 'reclusive creative' is also on his travels working on the next wonderful collection. Doubtless he shall be sending some of his own photographs from Italy and beyond.
